Benefits of eating egg yolk for protein content

Over time, egg yolks have become known as the part of the egg that is high in cholesterol, as such, leading many people to avoid eating them.  However, egg yolks may simply be the victim of bad press, as eating egg yolks is not as bad as most people believe them to be, unless you already have a significant problem with cholesterol.

This is due to the fact that egg yolks also have significant protein content and a small amount of fat which for the most part is unsaturated, making them a healthy choice if not consumed every day.

Egg yolks are actually a very good source of high quality protein given that they also contain many different types of essential amino acids and a reasonable amount of fatty substances that are actually healthy for your body.

Contrary to popular belief, not all fats are bad for the body and there are some fats that your body needs in order to function properly.  Additionally, due to the high level of a few amino acids in eggs such as leutin and xeaxanthin, egg yolk can also be a cancer preventing agent as well as a great protein source.

Outside of these benefits, egg yolks can also help decrease the risk of suffering from macular degeneration, while also helping you lose weight over time due as they are a great healthy way to curb hunger.  Thus, you can snack on a simple hardboiled egg for the protein and energy you need for an upcoming workout, without worrying about eating too many carbs or fats.

When you combine the protein found in egg yolks with those found in egg whites, you will quickly see that eggs are the number one way to build up the protein naturally in your diet without using any drug supplements.

After all, a natural choice is always better if you have the option.  Therefore, the next time that you find yourself considering taking the yolk out of an egg; you may want to pause and think about leaving it in, because in the long term you may actually be doing your body a favour if you indulge in the entire egg.
